Agrodome Sheep Show
You must watch the world famous Agrodome sheep show while in Rotorua. This one hour of enthralling farming entertainment features live sheep shearing, dog trials and even offers the chance to get up cloase and personal to hand feed lambs or milk a cow. This is the most unique show you will ever encounter anywhere in the world and with three shows daily (9.30am, 11.00am and 2.30pm) there’s no excuses to miss it.
Rainbow Springs is home to New Zealand’s most precious inhabitants who reside in 22 acres of stunning native flora and crystal clear spring-fed streams. Be sure to take your time exploring the park, you will have plenty to enjoy including free flight aviaries containing native birds such as the Tui, Kea and the endangered Kiwi. The live bird show features some of the most hilarious feathered entertainers you will ever see and the kids will love the Big Splash water ride.
Opening 365 days a year this is a great activity for all ages.
Whakarewarewa – The Living Thermal Village
Whakarewarewa – The Living Thermal Village gives you an opportunity to discover the distinctive lifestyle and customs of the Maori Culture. Guided tours are offered where you can gain an understanding of how the locals utilise the geothermal wonders of mother nature in their everyday life such as cooking and bathing. Make sure not to miss the chance to learn a traditional Maori song and dance during the daily Cultural performance.
Whakarewarewa is a truly authentic cultural experience that must be seen. This Village is open daily (except Christmas Day) from 8.30am to 5pm.
