Abstraction - Latitude by Longitude Art Exhibition

A connection with land is the theme of an exhibition of new work by Northland artist Filani Filina Macassey to be shown at NorthTec's Geoff Wilson Gallery.

Fijian-born Filani has used materials sourced from the earth - paper mulberry fibre from Fiji, mud pigments from Northland and Fiji, charcoal and traditional dye and inks to highlight ideas of space, time, utilization of raw materials and a personal form of map and mark making.

Abstraction - Latitude by Longitude opens at the Geoff Wilson Gallery on Thursday 15 June and runs until 13 July. Gallery open hours are Wednesdays 10am - 6pm, and Thursdays and Fridays 10am - 4pm. The Geoff Wilson Gallery is located at the Raumanga Campus of NorthTec, Raumanga Valley Road, Whangarei.
