The Eastland section of the Pacific Coast Highway, State Highway 35, is one of New Zealand’s most scenic drives. Around every corner you will be blown away with the stunning ocean views.

Gisborne is the main center in Eastland, it's a town with charming coastal character surrounded by worldiclass surf beaches, quality vineyards (renowned for growing the Chardonnay grape), groves of citrus, magnificent trees and wild rivers that meander towards empty beaches. Rich in history, Gisborne has played a crucial role in the story of New Zealand’s origins. It’s where the Maori migratory first landed, and where Captain James Cook made his first New Zealand landfall in 1769.

Being the most eastern part of the country means Gisborne is the first city in the world to welcome a new day!

South-west of Gisborne is Te Urewera National Park, the third largest national park and the largest untouched native forest in New Zealand. Te Urewera, centred on beautiful Lake Waikaremoana, is one of the most stunning areas for hiking and trekking with its magnificent walks and trails.

After a day of beach, golf or hiking in the region, sit back and relax for a bit of tlc at one of the local spa salons. Click here to see all spas located in Eastland.
