Family Bike Rides in Auckland

There are plenty of lovely bike rides for families from our store in Auckland central. Here are our top picks to suit kids of all ages!

From our store in Commerce St, Auckland Central, there are plenty of great rides for families - here are our top picks for a fun, affordable day out.

CBD to Auckland Harbour Bridge

Head west towards the Harbour Bridge past several top attractions - Viaduct entertainment district, Maritime Museum, Fish Market, Wynyard Quarter, Westhaven Marina, Auckland Climb and Bungy and, of course, the Harbour Bridge.

This ride is suited to all ages and abilities - it's short, safe (off-road cyclelanes) and, even better, flat!

At the end of the ride there is a lovely park with swimming pool, toilets and picnic tables.

CBD to Kelly Tarlton's

One of the most popular attractions in Auckland, Kelly Tarlton's is a great day out for families and easily reached by bike.

Not only is a bike ride a fun way for the family to get there, it can save a lot of time and hassle in the busy summer months (the queue for the bus can get quite long!).

There are lovely neighbouring beaches and parks to enjoy a relaxing picnic lunch after your visit before you ride back to our store.

CBD to Auckland Museum

Best suited to more active families with older children, the ride from our store up hill to The Museum will reward you with spectacular views and a visit to one of the best public parks in New Zealand.

We can help you plan your trip to maximise your time, and even organise entry to The Museum and tickets to the Cultural Performance.

CBD to Devonport

Take a ferry across the Harbour and explore the delightful seaside village of Devonport.

For the more active, a ride up to the DoC North Head Conservation area is well worth a visit. This is a beautiful spot for a picnic and kids of all ages will love exploring the tunnels and caves in the area.

Lovely, relaxed day out for the whole family!

CBD to Eastern Bays

This longer, more active ride is popular with Father's and Son's looking to explore further afield. The ride takes in the iconic Auckland city beaches before heading up to the eastern ridgeline and around to some lovely, gently off road trails.

Several options to head back to the CBD exist, including a visit to One Tree Hill, Mt Eden or Western Springs.

CBD to Waiheke Island

A very popular day out, there are several rides on the island to suit older families.

Bikes can be taken for free on Fuller's Ferries and Buses - great value!

Ask our friendly team about the many riding options on this stunning island.
