Rotorua's Awesome Family Accommodation

If you are looking for an affordable family holiday, then look no further than the amazing accommodation options in stunning Rotorua.

If you are looking for an affordable family holiday, then look no further than stunning Rotorua.  With an incredible array of accommodation on offer (12,500 beds!), catering for all sizes of families, you can see why Rotorua is one of New Zealand’s best family holiday destinations.

Let’s start with your accommodation options. Because it is such a popular tourist destination, Rotorua caters for all budgets when it comes to accommodation.  At the cheapest end you have camp grounds.  Most camp grounds offer tent and RV sites, or cabins to rent.  If they don't have thermal facilities on site they will generally be very close to locals pools.   For example, the Rotorua Top 10 Holiday park is a 4.5 star quality campground located only 1 kilometre from the city centre.  Their facilities include two mineral pools and a heated swimming pool.  You will also find lakeside camp grounds with thermally heated cooking facilities, and stunning bush walks on their doorstep.

Motels are usually the next price bracket.  Rotorua is lucky to have so many great motels offering exceptional value for the facilities they offer.  Many have spa pools, swimming pools and BBQ’s, and the five star motels have facilities such as playgrounds, and even mini golf! You will find that the majority of motels in Rotorua are located close to the city centre, some are even walking distance.

If you are looking to indulge during your holiday, then a Hotel is a great option.  You’ll probably be pleasantly surprised at just how affordable hotels can be, with many offering competitive rates that rival the Motel prices.   Some of the large hotel chains even have weekend and holiday deals such as kids eat and stay free, and they nearly all have covered heated swimming pools for guest use.  A couple of the hotels also provide 6 person rooms, which is fantastic if you are a family with more than two children.  With restaurants located on site, hotels often provide one of the easiest accommodation options for families.

Besides campgrounds, motels and hotels, you will also find backpackers, farm stays, apartments, luxury lodges and resorts!  All offering unique accommodation for your family holiday.

Once you have your accommodation booked, then check out Rotorua Super Passes for some great deals on outdoor and adventure activities for you and your family.  Activities like the luge, the zorb, the swoop, and the shweeb will have you coming back for more in no time.
