We enjoy welcoming visitors to New Zealand and we’d like to think that when you come here that you have an experience to remember - but for the right reasons. So if you’re coming to New Zealand, it’s a good idea to make sure you have everything ready.
To travel here you will need a passport that is valid for at least three months from your intended departure date. A visa may also be required, depending on where you’re coming from. If you want to stay for more than three months you will need a Visitor’s Visa or a Working Holiday Visa. And if you’d like to make New Zealand your long-term destination our Skilled Migrant Category offers you the opportunity to move live and work here permanently.
When you get here you will go through customs – make sure you’ve filled out your Arrival Card – and Biosecurity. This is really important. We are free of many pests and animal diseases that are found elsewhere and we don’t want them brought in here so please note what you can and can’t bring in. We welcome visitors but there are some that we really don’t want.
