The Pataka Lounge means a food store house in the maori language and was the most important food storage construction erected with in the confines of the maori Marae.

The Hangi food cooking is prepared with in earth and the heat source is hot quartz rocks with the addition of some manuka (native bush) to add to the flavouring of the contents with in the Hangi. Our guests can be inter actively involved with in the uplifting of the foods from with in and the carving up of and serving of the foods for consumption.

We have a range of seafoods such as Paua ( abalone) Oysters, Kina, Mussells and of course our Westcoast white bait which is a specialty product line prepared as a fritter or pattie between two layers of bread dashed with pepper .
