Planning on travelling through Canterbury in a campervan this summer? The following Department of Conservation campsites are campervan friendly.

Aoraki Mt Cook

  • White Horse Hill campsite (dumping station available during summer)

South Canterbury & McKenzie

  • Mt Nimrod campsite (no dumping station)
  • Orari Gorge campsite (no dumping station)
  • Otaio Gorge campsite (no dumping station)
  • Peel Forest campsite (booking required in summer)
  • Pioneer Park campsite (no dumping station)
  • Waihi Gorge campsite (no dumping station)

North Canterbury & Arthur’s Pass

  • Hawdon Shelter campsite (no dumping station)
  • Klondyke Corner campsite (no dumping station)
  • Lake Pearson (Moana Rua) campsite (no dumping station)
  • Wooded Gully (Mt Thomas) campsite (no dumping station)

Dumping stations are not available in many DOC Conservation Campsites. Please use dedicated dump stations at the nearest town.
