Franklin offers diversity and is exceptional for a weekend excursion with a range of experiences, from wine tasting to kayaking.
Visitors can enjoy a range of markets, our own vintage railway and an opportunity to explore our own limestone glow worm cave.
The vintage Railway is run by volunteers who are passionate about the steam era and operate the engines and passenger carriages, every Sunday from Labour weekend to Queens birthday. This is a great family day out, with picnic tables and room to stretch out or just down the road, is a lovely cafe - Calendula Cottage, with home made delicious food.
Our glow worm cave is a great way to experience our own local glow worms, only a short drive from the Auckland CBD and the owners also have built a great cafe for a treat after your cave and glow worm experience.
Pukekohe is the largest town in the Franklin district, and is once again, after many years absence, home to the V8 Supercar racing. The town has a range of cafes, restaurants and shopping and is handy to both east and west coast beaches for those "fun in the sun summers" so come on over and check out our place - www.franklincountry.com.
