Te Puia 

Te Puia is your journey into the Maori world. Taking a tour though the thermal valley, your guides proudly relate stories handed down from their ancestors while you take in the bubbling mud, steaming vents and the powerful Pohutu Geyser, exploding 30 metres towards the sky. In addition to the geothermal wonders, Te Puia is also home to the next generation of traditional artists at the New Zealand National Carving and Weaving Schools. A highlight for many visitors is the cultural performance which is an excellent introduction to Maori culture.

Agrodome Sheep Show 

You won’t want to miss the Agrodome’s world famous sheep show with its action-packed hour of farming entertainment! During the show you’ll meet 19 breeds of sheep, observe a live sheep shearing demonstration, a dog trial and get the opportunity to take part in the lively sheep auction. If you’re looking for a hands-on experience, then don’t miss out on jumping up on stage for the opportunity to feed the lambs or even hand-milk a cow! After the show, take the chance to visit the Woollen Mill and Shearing Museum to learn more about the history of the wool industry and to explore some more exotic wools including goat, alpaca, opossum and angora.

Paradise Valley Springs

Paradise Valley Springs is a stunning wildlife park set amongst the picturesque Paradise Valley. Running through the 50-acre park is a crystal clear stream that contains an abundance of Rainbow and Brown trout. The self-guided farm walk gets you up close to friendly farm animals such as Alpacas, Goats and Sheep and native New Zealand birds. Visitors can also interact with a variety of wildlife such as Deer, Pigs, Thar and Wallabies which may be hand fed. The park’s lion pride can’t be hand-fed though, that’s a job for the professionals. You are however, welcome to observe the daily feeding at 2.30pm at the lion enclosure.

Rainbow Springs Kiwi Wildlife Park

Rainbow Springs Kiwi Wildlife Park is 22 acres of fun, entertainment and beautiful native flora and fauna. A spacious and lush aviary is home to many of New Zealand’s favourite native birds while trout, including some of the largest you will ever see, inhabit sparkling clear pools and streams. If you are looking for some fun, family-friendly entertainment, the daily bird show featuring striking and splendid exotic parrots is a must-do. Thrill-seekers in your group will want to experience the Big Splash, a 9-minute journey sharing some of New Zealand's unique history ending in an exhilarating 12 metre drop. Kiwis play the starring role at Rainbow Springs with two different options to encounter these national treasures, daytime visitors can view kiwi in the nocturnal house while those visiting in the evening can meet kiwi in our open-air aviary.
