Matakana Farmer's market: a boutique slice of the country near Auckland

If you are heading north from Auckland, may we suggest a stop at the Matakana Farmers Market? It’s on every Saturday morning, 8am-1pm.

If you are heading northwards, may we suggest a stop at the Matakana Farmers Market? It’s on every Saturday morning in the little village of Matakana, 45 minutes north of Auckland City and it’s a goodie. Grab a coffee there and check out an impressive selection of products made, with love, in the Matakana area. There are plenty of samples to try and you’ll find everything you need for your picnic basket if heading on to the beach. How about Tawharanui,  25 minutes drive from Matakana?

There is a ATM adjacent to the farmers market and but there can be a bit of a queue so maybe plan ahead. There is lots of free parking available, but this is a popular little village so you might end up with a bit of a walk back to the market. But well worth the stroll it we say!
