Located approx 45 minutes north of Christchurch is the Waipara Valley wine region, home to award winning wines and fantastic winery food.
Visiting Pegasus Bay Winery for lunch is a treat that everyone needs to experience. For the last 3 years Pegasus Bay Winery has been voted the “New Zealand’s Best Winery Restaurant” in the Cuisine Magazine Awards, and this year is no different as the restaurant is once again a finalist.
You can taste their wines 7 days a week (from 10am – 5pm) and the restaurant is open Thursday – Monday (from 12 noon – 4pm).
During the warmer months enjoy the extensive outdoor area, with an outlook over a lake. During the winter as the open fire roars with warmth enjoy the spacious, high-ceilinged dining room. Red leather couches in front of the fire are the perfect spot to have a coffee.
The menu changes regularly and the restaurant staff pride themselves on using local produce where they can. To help with your dining experience they have even listed the ideal wine match for each dish on their menu.
