Hamilton Airport has flights to Wellington, Christchurch, Gisborne and Napier.

Air New Zealand flies from Hamilton to Wellington, Christchurch and Palmerston North. Sunair connects Hamilton with Gisborne, Great Barrier, North Shore and Whakatane. Helicorp provide chartered helicopter flights. Hamilton Airport also has the ability to cater for international charter flights.

Transport Options

Hamilton Airport is located about 15 kilometres south of the city centre.

Shuttle

Approximately $30 for one person - about 20 minutes

A shuttle is a cost effective way to travel into the city. Discounts apply if two or more people are travelling together - approximately $7 per additional person. Shuttles are normally shared with other passenger groups. The journey can take up to 35 minutes at peak traffic times or when there are several drop-offs along the way. Allow plenty of time to reach the airport for departing flights.

Taxi

Approximately $50 to $60 - about 20 minutes

The taxi journey between the airport and central city can take up to 40 minutes during peak traffic times. If you’re travelling to the airport by taxi, make sure you allow plenty of time.

Car rental

Fully licensed cafe with barista quality coffee and full menu, onsite catering is also available.
