Start your journey at the famous Mataura River well known for its ‘rising fish’ and ‘may-fly’ hatch. Go fishing in lush rural areas and then move across to the majestic Fiordland. Here you will experience towering waterfalls and stunning mountain landscapes. Take time to visit Milford Sound, once described by the writer Rudyard Kipling as the eigth wonder of the world. Some roads in this region  can be narrow and windy. Drive with caution and familiarise yourself with driving in New Zealand before getting behind the wheels.
