Adrenaline and nature in Queenstown

From adrenaline to nature, there are great activities to suit your inclination in Queenstown.

No matter where your travelling shoes may wander in Queenstown, there are plenty of activities from adrenaline to nature to suit your mood and inclinations.

NZONE Skydive
Ask any New Zealand traveller, “Want to throw yourself from a perfectly good aeroplane?” And they’ll most likely answer: YES!

And Queenstown is a great place to do it.

NZONE Skydive offers a well-organised, well-run, totally awesome skydive experience. Choose from 13,000ft or 15,000ft (but really, go for the 15,00ft!) and then strap yourself in for a fantastic ride. The views over Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables mountain range are incredible on the way up in the aeroplane and on the way down, freefalling at 200km/h while strapped in tight to a jump master.

And if you’re wondering if you want to shell out the extra cash for the photo pack, consider this: memories made at 200km/h, 5km above the earth should definitely be memorialised.

Dart River Safaris
Some may contend it’s the most beautiful scenery in New Zealand: the crystal waters of the braided Dar River, backdropped by pristine mountains and native New Zealand bush. And possibly the best way to take it all in is by boat. First a jet boat and then a Funyak.

Dart River Safaris offers a number of options for seeing the Dart River, but the full day Funyak trip might be our top pick. It starts with a kick of adrenaline (a one-hour jet boat ride up river complete with tight turns, 360⁰ spins and stops to catch your breath!) followed by a tranquil paddle/float downstream on an inflatable canoe/Funyak and a catered picnic lunch.

All gear including wetsuits and warm-weather gear is provided. The tour is based in Glenorchy but Dart River Safaris will pick up/drop off guests in Queenstown.
