The Hamilton & Waikato region is home to a thriving artistic community, with a number of creative spaces where you can marvel at incredible artwork.....

Galleries Galore! – A collection of impressive galleries in Hamilton City including Aesthete, Inspirit, Soul, Gallery Artisans and Thorton Gallery showcase everything from historical, cotemporary and fine art to photography and sculpture with many regularly changing shows and exhibitions to admire.

Waitakaruru Sculpture Park and Arboretum – Incredibly something which once was a former quarry has now been transformed into a stunning 42 acre creative space with gardens, ponds, streams and a 2km trail leading through New Zealand’s most extensive sculpture gallery. Take your time to explore!

Arts Trails – Arts trails are a great way to discover the many creative gems that are spotted throughout the region, encompassing a range of artists and craftspeople. A number of galleries and artists’ studios can be found in Raglan while Te Aroha, Morrinsville and Huntly all feature local trails and the “Scene Between” art trail journeys between Hamilton and Cambridge - showcasing leading art, gardens, museums, sculpture, food, coffee roasters and a thoroughly enjoyable tipple at Mystery Creek Winery.

Arts & Crafts markets – You will find a unique collection of authentic arts and crafts at the regular markets around the region. Check out the Raglan Creative Market with its many beach-inspired creations at the Old School Arts Centre on the 2nd Sunday of every month and the Tamahere Country Market on the 3rd Saturday of every month. There are also plenty of delicious home-made edible goodies along the way!

ArtsPost & The Waikato Museum – Overlooking the Waikato River, and with eight galleries over four levels, the museum features both art and history in its exhibitions. Beside the museum, ArtsPost showcases the best of local artists’ work and features everything from installation art to the more conventional.
