Time 2 Go Cardrona

Cardrona shares its names with a skifield, but was originally established as a gold rush township in the 1860s on the banks of the small Cardrona River.

Cardrona's well known landmark is its distinctive hotel of gold rush vintage in a scenic setting on the Crown Range road which connects Wanaka and Queenstown.  The much photographed local Cardrona pub was made famous by the advertising campaign of Speight's brewery of Dunedin.

Cardrona also includes one of New Zealand's favourite ski resorts.  The Cardrona Alpine Resort includes a High Performance Centre which trains more advanced skiers and snowboarders. The distribution of slopes is 25% beginner, 50% intermediate and 25% advanced. There are 2 detachable quad chairlifts and 2 fixed-grip quad chairlift, 2 "magic carpet" learner lifts and 1 platter lift for beginners.  Snowboarding is well catered for with 2 half pipes and 4 terrain parks.

Time 2 Go publishes a seasonal 'accommodation' favourites list for the wider Lake Wanaka region including Albert Town, Wanaka, Cardrona, Beacon Point, Luggate and Lake Hawea areas to assist you with your travel planning.
