Mission Estate is the birthplace of New Zealand wine and this country's oldest winery.
Established in 1851 by a group of French Missionaries, Mission has a reputation for producing an award-winning range of distinctly New Zealand wines.
Housed in an elegantly restored historic seminary building in Hawke's Bay, visitors can enjoy sweeping views of the vineyards, Napier city and the coast beyond. The cellar door is one of the most visited in New Zealand, offering twice daily historic talks at 10:30am and 2pm and a chance to taste from the extensive range of wines.
The world class restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor fine-dining where visitors can enjoy delicious cuisine, magnificent views and discerning service seven days a week.
The Farmhouse at the Mission offers luxurious accommodation nestled discreetly amongst the vines and can accommodate up to three couples.
Mission Estate is also home to the annual Mission Concert which sees 25,000 people head to the winery for a day of music in the vines. Featuring internationally renowned artists like Rod Stewart, Sting, Tom Jones and Barry Gibb of the Bees Gees, the Mission Concert is a summer experience that shouldn't be missed.
