Porter Heights Ski Field
An 89 km scenic drive from Christchurch City will take you to Porter Heights Ski Field in just 1 hour. Known as relaxed and friendly slopes, Porter Heights has something for every skier and snowboarder to enjoy. The views are exceptionally breathtaking; enjoy phenomenal panoramic views of the Southern Alps and Mount Cook and the glistening Lake Coleridge below. Porter heights is fully equipped with a modern lodge, cafeterias, ski repair services and helpful instructors.
Mount Hutt Ski Area
Set high inside the Eastern rim of the Southern Alps is an area known for some of the lightest and driest powder on this side of the world! Mount Hutt Ski Area is suitable for first-time skiers through to advanced powder-hounds; with wide open terrain and a fabulous selection of challenging runs you can’t go past Mount Hutt. The registered creche Skiwiland is available for children between the ages of 2 and 6, as is the comprehensive ski school, Kea Club for 7-16 year olds.
Temple Basin Ski Field
One of New Zealand’s greatest skiing locations is Temple Basin Ski Field - Greymouth. Centered in the middle of New Zealand’s Southern Alps and surrounded by the picturesque Arthurs Pass National Park, Temple Basin is the perfect place to plan your next ski trip. These slopes offer an arena for beginners through to advanced with a variety of adrenaline filled fun to be had no matter what your skill level may be. Craigieburn Valley Ski Area
Located in the heart of the Southern Alps, Cragieburn valley has some of the best intermediate and advanced skiing in the country. Narrow chutes and wide open powder bowls mean that skiers have the freedom to challenge themselves in some of the best off piste skiing anywhere in the world. A wide variety of terrain makes Cragieburn well suited to intermediate and advanced skiers but competent beginners will also learn a lot in this beautiful area of New Zealand’s South Island.
