Growing up our family always went on weekend drives, not much of a plan, just a mindset to explore. We found all sorts of interesting things from quirky letterboxes to oil wells, and somewhere along the way we always found a dairy to buy an icecream, and drove home several hours later satisfied with our mini holiday. Working at Destination Manawatu I continue to have mini holidays on The Country Road, enjoy eating ice cream (Waireka Honey is my favourite!), and meeting humble and interesting people who have made this place their home.
