Registered as a charitable trust in 1992, Wingspan was set up to fund the rehabilitation of a small number of injured harriers. Today it continues its rehabilitation work, along side education, advocacy and breeding for release programmes.
Visitors to the Wingspan Centre are able to view a museum area and sneak previews into the incubation and service areas, before entering the main aviary - a landscaped, all-weather walkway. Themed with native plants and large aviaries, it is a very impressive facility of international standard.
The free flying falcons are passionately described as little 'spitfires'. Visitors will be impressed by their fast flight, steep climbs and stoops.
A high impact encounter that simply should not be missed!
