Waipu, a small settlement with Scottish heritage, is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the Pacific paradise of Bream Bay.

The number-one reason to visit is Waipu Cove, a long, sandy beach with safe swimming, surfing and fishing. The little ones will love exploring the rock pools and secluded surrounding. The settlement is also known for horseriding around Waipu, Uretiti and Ruakaka areas.

The beachside cafe is an idyllic spot for breakfast, lunch, or an open-air dinner among the fairy lights. Other local attractions include a museum, art gallery and golf courses.

Embark on a 1.5-hour walk around the Waipu Caves(opens in new window) where you will find stalactites, stalagmites and glow worms. Or explore the Waipu Coastal Walkway with stunning rock formations similar to the Pancake Rocks.

Nearby are the beautiful Piroa Falls and Marsden Cove marina where you can take day trips by boat that include fishing, diving, and sightseeing.
