Owner of Tudor Park Country Stay & Garden in Invercargill.
If you would like to experience art and nature in one, don’t miss a visit to Anderson Park.
Anderson Park is located in Invercargill and is discovered through a winding bush drive opening onto the beauty of green lawns, gardens all framing the elegant house that holds an outstanding collection of New Zealand art. Here the quietness and ambience is always a surprise and you can enjoy paintings by early artists J B C Hoyte, John Gully, Tosswill Woollaston, Rita Angus, Colin Wheeler and Charles Goldie and of more recent times Ralph Hotere, Brent Wong Roy Dickison and John Husband.
The collection is regularly being enhanced with work by local artists who have or are becoming nationally and internationally known.
Also included in the environment at Anderson Park as well as the very well maintained gardens is a delightful short bush walk which meanders through a stand of native bush which contains examples of many native species. This is also enhanced by the sound of native bird song which allows you to enjoy the atmosphere of the nature of New Zealand bush in the same environment as New Zealand Art.
You can enjoy complimentary tea or coffee in the gallery or continue your visit to Invercargill with refreshments at one of the many cafes offering delicious food made from local produce and possibly enjoying time in Queens Park another of the outdoor attractions in Invercargill
4 Acre garden surrounding a Tudor style house. Hidden & formal gardens, ponds, summer house, harbours & pergolas dripping with old roses. Peaceful, interesting with birdsong for music.
