Auckland Carbon Neutral Shore Excursions for Cruise Boat Passengers
Eco-minded Cruise boat passengers who wish to minimise their impact on New Zealand's environment while taking their Shore tours, can offset their carbon emissions while in Auckland.
Part of the 'Coast to Coast Tours' west Auckland day trip is to visit the historic sheep farm & Homestead of tour owner/operator hosts Donna & Stuart Hamilton, where a group Native tree planting (complimentary inclusion for Cruise boat passengers), ensures their day tour is carbon neutral.
Trees are panted on the 100-acre sheep farm, where New Zeland Government Law protects the trees for purpituity.
In visiting the west Auckland attractions of Arataki Information Centre, craft-shopping, wine & honey tasting, Muriwai beach & gannet colony, and genuine sheep farm, the round trip is just on 200km, (even though the excursion is merely 40 minutes from downtown!). But tour operators Donna & Stuart aim to make their operation (which was a finalist in the 2009 Hospitality Awards), as sustainable as possible.
Locally sourced produce, and supporting local services, compliment the 'Coast to Coast Tours' firm committment to sustainability and 'true' Eco-tour practice.
Muriwai Beach Gannet colony hosted by local operators whose family has lived in the region since 1922. Forest and Bird members. Lunch included. Native tree planted to offset carbon emissions for every tour run.
