Due to the increase in tourist traffic to the Catlins from Southland and Otago on the Southern Scenic Route, the owner of the Whistling Frog Cafe & Bar and the McLean Falls Holiday Park, Mr Paul Bridson, has spent his winter re-designing a Self Guide map of the whole Catlins region. It gives a brief explanation of the most important must-do's, so that travellers have an easy guide reference with road map and iconic features of this spectacular region. It is in full color and lists all the "must do's" on the Catlins portion of the Southern Scenic Route linking Queenstown with Dunedin.
The map lists sites that visitors to the region can view including: the iconic Cathedral Caves, unique wildlife, including sealions, yellow-eyed penguins, the Nuggets and the many water falls that are a feature of the Catlins.
This will allow pre-planning by Catlins visitors, who can download the map free of charge on-line prior to their arrival in the Catlins.

He has also added a pictorial primer of the Catlins which travellers can view to see the diversity of the region which will make it a must see on any trip to the South Island of New Zealand.
