Try a cheese roll! These are native to Dunedin and you won’t find them further north.
Dunedinites go mad for the cheesy mixture wrapped in white bread and grilled with butter...mmm. Great for the heart! Grab a couple for lunch one day, you can’t go wrong.
You will find cheese rolls in lots of cafes, but I recommend Strictly Coffee at 23 Bath Street (great coffee too), or on Albion Lane Strictly Coffee Company. Also try Cilantro at 480 Moray Place – their cheese rolls are massive and they also have good coffee and other food too.
Cost: Around $2 or $3 each.
Dunedin is located on the South East coast of the South Island. It is a city nestled in tree-clad hills at the head of a spectacular harbour.
