One of the great things about the Nature Coast is that at every turn there’s a special experience for you and the kids that doesn’t cost the earth. Whether you’re visiting one of our nature or historical attractions, picnicking at a reserve or splashing around in the sea, you’ll be doing things the fun kiwi way.
Our beaches are safe and our accommodation is affordable (and many places are very child-friendly).
Choose two or three of these things to do per day or weekend.
Wherever you go off State Highway 1 (to the mountains or the sea), have fun with Nature Coast.

To refuel, every town and village has a variety of eateries from classic kiwi bakeries, to up market cafe food. Or head to a supermarket, grab a chicken, some bread and salad, and head to the beach or a river. The kids will love Kapiti Candies in the Lindale complex at Paraparaumu Beach, or Nyco Chocolates in Raumati Beach.
