Favourite place #1 - Rockburn Chasm, Glenorchy.
If you are looking for an adventure, where the hard work pays off, and the reward is something truely stunning then the Rockburn Chasm is for you.

Glenorchy, at the head of Lake Wakatipu, is 48km from Queenstown. In the mountain valley's beyond the township are some of New Zealand's best-known multi-day tracks. There are also great day walks on these tracks and many shorter walks nearby.
The Sugarloaf - Rockburn track takes you to Lake Sylvan and on to the Rockburn Hut and Rockburn Chasm. The marked track traverses moraine through beech forest from Lake Sylvan.
The Rockburn hut (basic) is nestled in the forest, with a chasm, river beaches, pools, and views up the nearby Dart Valley.
This is truely one of the most stunning places I have visited, and look forward to venturing there again soon. The picture attached is all the inspiration you need to visit this amazing location.
