Perfect for wine lovers, this itinerary takes in Hawke’s Bay and the Wairarapa wine regions, as well as offering the opportunity to extend the trip to South Island and the Marlborough wine region at the end. To compliment the gourmet delights we recommend a gourmet walking tour of Wellington, which will encompass some of the city’s best cafés and local produce.

Day 1 Hawke’s Bay: Arrive in Hawke’s Bay and stay 2 nights in either Napier or Hastings.

Day 2 Hawke’s Bay: Day at leisure to explore the vineyards of the area or take a guided tour to learn more about the winemaking processes.

Day 3 To Martinborough: Drive south into the Wairarapa region, another of New Zealand’s top wine growing regions. Stay 2 nights in Martinborough.

Day 4 Martinborough: Day at leisure to explore the Wairarapa or join a guided gourmet tour of Martinborough.

Day 5 To Wellington: This morning drive to the capital city, Wellington, where you will stay 2 nights.

Day 6 Wellington: Join a morning walking tour of Wellington, visiting some of Wellington’s best cafés and providing the opportunity to try local produce. Afternoon at leisure or visit New Zealand’s national museum, Te Papa.
