Matua Gardens Retreat Akaroa update

On Sept 4 2010 our chimney cracked. We still have the romantic ambiance of lots of candles & we have a new business venture A Classic Ride.

On September 4 2010 our lovely big chimney & fireplace in the guest lounge cracked & can't be used while we wait for repairs. Fortunately we make our own candles so an abundance of candlelight reflecting off the original native timber ceilings is romantic & magical & a heatpump keeps guests warm & cosy. We will be delighted when we do get our fire back.

We hosted an absolutely delightful couple over the past weekend. Their appreciation of everything we did for them, their pleasure in all the details attended to before their arrival & during their stay culminated in feedback that makes us smile. 

My wonderful partner promised she'd take me somewhere REALLY AMAZING for my birthday - and you guys delivered!! Thanks for the great food & having us at your wonderful place. Andy & Elena.

They said it was like living the lifestyles of the rich & famous with a private chef, waiter & every detail attended to. This couple love their own space, the rural setting, the seclusion, the service & the Slow Food.

They are excited about our new business venture too. 

A Honda Goldwing motorbike & sidecar are being prepared for tours of Akaroa, Banks Peninsual & further afield. Called A Classic Ride enquiries are welcome now. The sidecar is wide enough for two small-medium people & the pillion seat on the bike is like an armchair. It's an adventure in luxury!

We have a small wedding booked for early December. The bride was ecstatic to find somewhere they can have the ceremony, photos, accommodation & a meal.
