As the name suggests, Alpine Views is located in the foothills of the Canterbury Plains with panoramic views of the stunning Southern Alps in the South Island of New Zealand. It is just over one hour’s drive from Christchurch International Airport and only 15 minutes from the well-known Mt Hutt ski area. It is also an easy 15 minute drive from Methven, a town boasting a wide array of cafes, restaurants and plenty of things to do.
The accommodation is spacious, comfortable and clean. There are two rooms with queen size beds and separate ensuites. In addition, there is a third room with two single beds - perfect for families or two friends. This room can be joined up with one of the queen rooms via the shared ensuite if required.
Breakfast is included in the tariff and dinner can be arranged on request. The warm relaxing homestead is set in three acres of beautiful gardens.
This is a genuine New Zealand experience staying with warm and friendly people in a true South Island village. The village of Staveley is a quaint little settlement nestled at the foot of the beautiful Mt Somers. The Church, Village Hall, School (now museum), Store and Dairy Factory still remain, are used by the community, and travellers are encouraged to visit these buildings. Staveley is also the gateway to the Mt Somers Walking tracks as well as the popular ice skating rink.
