Nelson First XV Wine Competition

A unique series of events based around a competition between Italian, USA and Nelson Aromatic Wines. Fantastic fun in Nelson for lovers of fine wines.

Nelson Wineart is planning an exciting series of events to be held during the Rugby World Cup. They will be based around an international wine competition between the famous aromatic wines from Italy, USA and Nelson. A panel of high profile international judges will judge the First Fifteen Wines from each country.

As well as watching the Italian and American rugby teams on the field, you can experience the very best aromatic wines from these countries! There will be tough competition on and off the field! Visit our website for full details.

Sunday 25 September 2011- the Nelson First Fifteen Degustation Dinner - Hosted by John Hawkesby, the winning wines will be announced while you enjoy an exquiste meal and the spectactular Woollaston Estates.

Monday 26 September 2011  - The Nelson First Fifteen Tutored Tasting - meet the judges and evaluate the wines yourself. You will be able to taste the wines from Italy, USA and Nelson and hear what the judges have to say about them. Held at the fantastic World of Wearable Art and Collectable Cars Museum you will be able to experience this gallery as well as the wines.

Wednesday 27 September 2011 - The Nelson New Release Wine Tasting - Come and enjoy this unique opportunity to taste the recently released Nelson wines as well as some old favourites! Have a chat with the Nelson winemakers and enjoy the sunset from this beautiful waterfront deck. Over 100 wines will be available to taste!
Your wineglass, all wine tastings and gourmet nibbles are included in the ticket price.
