A passion for fresh air and wilderness adventures doesn’t mean you have to rough it - certainly not in New Zealand anyway.

New Zealand is fast becoming the destination of choice for luxury travellers. Our amazing ocean, lake, river and mountain environments are perfectly complemented by an exceptional range of lodge retreats and boutique accommodation. Add to that a wine culture that's setting the world on fire and you're looking at a holiday made in heaven.

Hiking and Biking

Many of New Zealand's greatest hiking and biking journeys have been transformed into 'action by day, luxury by night' experiences where you won't need to carry your pack. At the end of each leg, a boutique lodge will welcome you into a cosy world of fine food and wine, superbly comfortable accommodation and exceptional service.

A fishing paradise

The irresistable tradition of trout fishing combined with character lodge accommodation dates back nearly 100 years in New Zealand. Situated on the banks of the Waikato River in Taupo, Huka Lodge is consistently listed as one of the world's great retreats.

If big game fishing is more your style then head for the Bay of Islands. Here the scent of the ocean triggers the urge to hunt marlin, mako and broadbill. Charter boats are crewed by knowledgeable game fishermen and the historic town of Russell offers a range of five-star boutique cottages and retreats.

Golfing

Two names have been vying for position at the top of New Zealand's golf ladder - Kauri Cliffs in Northland with stunning views over the beautiful Cavalli Island and Cape Kidnappers in Hawke's Bay where some fairways appear to drop off the end of the earth. Owned by the same family, both provide an exciting cliff's edge golfing experience backed up by award-winning accommodation and cuisine.

In Queenstown, the golf course at Millbrook Resort is beautiful in every season. Designed by Sir Bob Charles, this 18 hole, par-72, championship course is set against spectacular alpine scenery. Luxury accommodation surrounds this course.

Snow excitement

From late June until mid to late October, the Southern Alps are a playground for skiing and boarding. While the commercial fields - mostly located around Queenstown and Wanaka are well groomed with fast, comfortable lifts, the premier snow experience is heli-skiing on the Harris Mountains.

Queenstown's plethora of top notch hotels, lodges and retreats ensures your alpine adventures are complemented by sumptuous accommodation.
