During September, October and sometimes November, Alpinism & Ski Wanaka offer 5-7 day ski touring/ snowboard packages in the alpine wilderness of the Southern Alps; based at a high mountain hut in either Mount Cook/Aoraki or Westland National Parks, ski/snowboard around vast glacial terrain with hundreds of meters of snow base. Ski off the main divide down massive uncrowded slopes and bowls with only a light pack on – the ultimate experience, bring it on!
Max ratio 1:4, scheduled dates and private group bookings for ski touring and snowboarding welcome.
Ski mountaineering with an instructional bent, not for the faint hearted, you can learn the skills of winter mountaineering on skis or a snow board. Avalanche courses are also available.
