In 1997,Crawford & Catherine Brown purchased land in Bannockburn, Central Otago and set out to make the best Pinot noir that Central Otago could produce. With a current count of 19 Gold medals (and many more Silvers) over 10 vintages, they have demonstrated that, with quality as the over-riding philosophy, it can be done. In addition to the two Pinots noir they produce, a barrel-fermented and aged Dry Riesling and a Pinot noir Rosé are popular additions to their portfolio. In late 2011 they will add a Gruener Veltliner to their small selection of wines.
Crawford & Catherine (and their friendly Labrador, Rocky) welcome visitors to their cellar door which operates from their home, situated on the vineyard.
