There is good fishing and kayaking in nearby lakes, dams and rivers. The Grape Escape is available for vineyard tours. We look down on the Central Otago Rail Trail. One of Peter Jackson's favourite sites for the Lord of the Rings filming is also close by in the Ida Valley. Mountain biking and 4-wheel driving are a fun way to explore gold mining ruins or orchards.
