About

Rated as a Garden of International Significance, Dunedin Botanic Garden is the oldest in the country.
It offers formal garden beds on flat land and also more naturalistic plant collections on a sun facing slope.
Native birds can be seen in the aviary and the New Zealand Native Plant Collection shows what makes our native fauna so unique.
There is a cafe and a winter garden glasshouse provides a tropical retreat. Get free food from the information centre to feed the friendly local ducks.
Access to the botanic garden is free of charge and it is open every day of the year from dawn till dusk.
