Footprints Waipoua ‘Step into our World’ is a Lonely Planet Code Green Experience of a Lifetime encounter. Located on Northlands rugged West Coast let Kupe’s (NZ’s first discoverer) descendants take you on a night guided walk to the two largest kauri trees in the world.

Footprints Waipoua is locally owned and operated and is a Qualmark and DoC approved operator in association with the Copthorne Hotel & Resort Hokianga and Opononi Resort Hotel. Let our friendly, experienced local Maori guides willingly share their knowledge, stories, song and the playing of musical instruments to enlighten and enhance this tranquil and spiritual location.

  • Business hours: 8.30am to 5pm, 363 days a year. We do not operate on Christmas and New Year's Day.
