The Upper Buller Gorge offers one of the best jet boat runs in New Zealand. Enjoy stunning scenery and whitewater thrills as you jet the Buller River. No wonder Lonely Planet describes this as "Renowned Jetboating!"
Participants are taken for a thrilling 40-mintue ride up the river to the foot of the pink granite rocks of the gorge and beneath the swingbridge. Kayakers or rafters may be running the river, whilst the earthquake rapids provide a little whitewater excitement.
Continuing on down the river customers can enjoy the beauty of the scenic reserve and marvel at the efforts of the early goldminers who tunnelled through solid rock to divert the mighty Buller River.
The driver will pull over at Deep Creek to allow customers to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the river, interrupted only by the calls of the native birds, before relating a short history of the early explorers, goldminers and the natural history of the area.
