The flagship of Hawke's Bay Racing is the Spring Carnival which features three Premier Racemeetings in a five-week period during the Spring (this year August 27th to October 1st)With Group racing on the sublime Hastings surface, New Zealand’s best equine talent strut their stuff in front of large crowds, all keen to maximise the great weather that the Hawke’s Bay offers. The carnival culminates with New Zealand’s premier Weight-for-age contest, where the honor board acts as a who’s who of recent champions of the turf.
