Highwic is one of New Zealand's finest timber Gothic houses, dating from 1862. The house remained with the Buckland family until it was sold to the Auckland City Council and the New Zealand Historic Places Trust in 1978. It is furnished with period pieces and has fine gardens that provide a haven from the bjustle of nearby Newmarket.
Today, Highwic also serves as a quality functions venue. Whether you’re visiting or celebrating a special occasion, this rare and beautifully preserved ‘Carpenter Gothic’-style building, is a delight.
