Winery specialised in wines with an European influence. It is situated next to the picturesque Ruamahanga River and we offer free wine tastings and a very warm hearted atmosphere.
We are different in many ways to other wineries. With high density planting, low trellising, intense vine tending, green harvest, low yields, hand picking and berry sorting we continue with gentle processing and traditional european burgundian vinification. The fruit expression is not as intense. We make really complex wines, with many layers of fruit and delicate nuances follwed by a great mouth structure, sometimes not soft enough for drinking now. Many wines need bottle age to reveal their true intensity. Instead of satiating. The wines have a wonderful balance between fruit and power surronded by pure elegance. We are 13 km from the main Highway SH2, but it is worth the journey.
