Tuatapere is the last town in New Zealand where you can see the setting sun. Next-door to Fiordland with the Southern Ocean on our doorstep and the penguins of Antarctica our neighbours, we really can offer the true remote kiwi experience.
The Last Light Lodge offers warm and cosy cabins, backpacker accommodation, tent and camper van sites. Shower and laundromat facilities are also available for passing visitors. While you are here, say hello to our flock of friendly chickens, or pop over to our veggie patch and help out with a spot of weeding.
The Last Light Cafe serves a tasty range of home-cooked food as well as great coffee and the best cake this side of the Waiau River. Settle down and watch the sun set in our corner of paradise.
