Lyttelton Kayaks operates a Sea Kayak hire business. We have a modern fleet of 24 kayaks. These kayaks are fully equiped with paddles, spray decks, safety equipment, and communications. We operate 12 months of the year from Cass Bay in Lyttelton Harbour.
Cass Bay is readily reached by public bus from nearby Christchurch City. Suggested activities are a paddle to Quail Island with its beaches, sea caves, rock gardens, and the ships graveyard. Quail Island is a Reserve. It is the base from where Shackelton left for the Antarctic and some of the historic buildings still exist today. When paddling across to the Island it is likely that inquisitive Hectors Dolphin will appear.
