For a pleasant day out, join the Whittaker family for a leisurely voyage up the Mokau River on the Glenroyal launch. Scenic sites include the Tauwhare Reserve with some of the tallest Kahikatea in New Zealand, the Te Mahoe estuary with its rare Spoonbill birds, and thirteen Native wildlife reserves of coastal forests, swamps, willow trees, birds, and estuarine vegetation. The Mokau River has over 400 whitebait jetties lining the river edge.
Enjoy lunch in the warm cabin (seats 30), morning tea on the back viewing deck, or a glass of wine on the top deck. Whitebait and other New Zealand fish are available depending on the season. She is licensed for 50 People and safe for the whole family.
