Ngahere Adventures offers a unique horse trekking experience, travelling into the largest native forest in the North Island, Te Urewera National Park.
Riders travel along and through the Whakatane River, flanked on both sides by dense bush, the natural habitat of native birds, wild pigs and deer. The area is very remote and peaceful, hence our motto "Stress free and at peace with nature".
We cater for all riding abilities and provide experienced local Maori guides with a wealth of cultural and historical knowledge to share. We offer 1/2 day, day, overnight and multiday treks. This is a true wilderness experience, no power or phone coverage and basic bush hut accommodation. The ultimate way to escape the hustle and bustle of life!
