The steamboat SS Eliza Hobson operates from Paihia and Opua.
This Steamboat is fuelled by off cuts of wood from local steam sawmill. The steam engine has an open crankcase so the passengers can see the crankshaft and rods moving.
The Steamboat is operated by Volunteers from the Northern Steamship Charitable Trust. Profits going towards the restoration of the 1910 TSS The Minerva.
