About

Orongo Bay Homestead is known as the First American Consulate dating to the 1860's. The impressive, fully restored, two storey homestead is an exclusive, historic country residence with fine wine and renowned cuisine.

Sequestered in 15 acres of lawns, native bush and organic gardens, it enjoys views across New Zealand's sub tropical Bay of Islands to the Waitangi Treaty grounds.

The homestead discreetly includes every modern facility including high-speed wireless internet. There are four rooms all with generous ensuite bathrooms - the traditional Consul’s Room with broad bay views, the private Pond Edge Retreat, the sumptuous Oyster Bay View room and the architect-designed, lofty Pacific Room overlooking the wildlife sanctuary.

Pricing and Conditions

Adult $495.00 - $650.00
  • Further pricing information: Room rate of $650, stable for 5 years, temporarily reduces to $595 for the 2009/2010 NZ summer. Pre-payment qualifies for further discounts: 1 month ahead 5%, 2 months ahead 10%, 3 months ahead 20% (you are still protected by our cancellation refund policy). Charges for one child sharing a room with 2 adults will also be dropped when prepayment is made.
