The Port FitzRoy Information Centre is at the northern end of Great Barrier Island. Port FitzRoy is one of the best natural harbours in New Zealand. Walking tracks offer the opportunity to experience the native regenerating bush and stunning views of the harbour.
The Information Centre has maps of the island, books and locally made products. Car hire is available. Owned and operated by a local resident.
There is an abundance of native flora and fauna including brown teal, kaka, pigeon, tui, bellbird, grey warbler, kingfisher, banded rail.
