About

Rewa's Village is the only replica fishing village (Kainga) constructed in traditional ways Maori used before Europeans came to New Zealand.

The buildings are of differing types for various uses - living, storage, & cooking. There are artifacts and drawings showing aspects of the lifestyle.

The native plant garden notes Maori usage for food, medicine, clothing and housing.

A 12 minute film relates stories of first meetings between local Maori and the first Anglican missionaries led by Samuel Marsden in 1814. It shows the beginning of cultural interaction in the Kerikeri Basin.

A shop stocks a range of souvenirs and books about native plants, Maori culture and New Zealand history.
